Kevin Sullivan

I received a great email from a teacher, Kevin Sullivan who has access to a ShopBot at his school and with his class has begun to build molds and cut out boards with it.

He also has included links to the mold files if any of you are interested in duplicating his build. Here is his letter to me and photos of the build process.

The shop is called CA Cycle but tuning and donating bikes is just a small part of what we do. My kids learn to tune skis and snowboards, they learn basic woodworking skills building birdhouses, they make furniture out of bike parts and skis, they build skateboards and customize logos for them, they string rackets and more…

Craig Morrisson at the TDSB, teaches students at the Oasis Alternative Secondary School in Toronto Canada. Over the last number of years Craig has developed a great program called the Oasis Skateboard Factory.

LONGBOARD COLLECTIVE

LONGBOARD COLLECTIVE Hanover High School

Being a teacher I was particularly interested in the Longboard Collective 4 day deckbuilding course. Their decks were built using solid wood, cut and shaped into beautiful cruisers. KevinLavign says the event will be run for a second year, this March. Their blog and website is full of great pictures and information about the build.
